Skyline Holdings company announced today, Thursday, its donation of 4 million Turkish lira to the official account of the Turkish Disaster and Emergency Management Authority (AFAD), to contribute to supporting relief and rescue efforts following the earthquake that struck southern Turkey.

The company's donations come in response to the joint campaign aired yesterday through 213 television stations and 562 radio stations inside and outside Turkey, under the name "One Heart Turkey," which was participated by a group of Turkish celebrities live on air.

The Turkish Disaster and Emergency Management Authority (AFAD) today expressed its gratitude to the participants in the "One Heart Turkey" donation campaign, which succeeded in raising more than 6 billion dollars within 7 hours for the benefit of the earthquake victims.

Nagi Al-Musalli, the CEO of Skyline Holdings, said, "The support we provided in the AFAD campaign is a small gesture of gratitude to our country Turkey, which has made us today a part of its citizens, especially after Turkey's honorable stances towards our country Yemen."

Al-Musalli added, "We are conducting all communications with Arab and Yemeni companies in particular, urging and inviting them to donate to the earthquake victims through official Turkish channels. In this crisis, everyone should stand together, each from their place."

Regarding the support provided by Skyline Holdings, Yemeni Ambassador to Turkey, Mohamed Tareq, said: "Since the first day of the disaster, we have been discussing with Yemeni businessmen in Turkey to contribute effectively and genuinely to donate to the earthquake victims through the Turkish Disaster and Emergency Management Authority. Our first visit was to Skyline Holdings, which quickly responded to this humanitarian and national call."

Tareq pointed out, "The interaction and response of Yemeni and Arab businessmen and companies in Turkey were very significant, as this is the least duty towards the Turkish people and leadership in their current ordeal."

Last Monday, Skyline Holdings company, represented by the Chairman of the Board of Directors, Mohamed Al-Musalli, received the Yemeni Ambassador and dozens of Yemeni businessmen and civil Yemeni institutions, with the aim of discussing ways to support both the Turkish and Syrian peoples after the destructive earthquake that struck southern Turkey and northern Syria.

On February 6th, a 7.7 magnitude earthquake hit southern Turkey and northern Syria, followed by another earthquake hours later with a magnitude of 7.6, and hundreds of violent aftershocks, resulting in significant loss of life and property in both countries.
